The first MG Select dealership in India has opened as the automaker gets ready to introduce two high-end EVs to the Indian market. The first MG Select store in India is Tejpal Motors, which is close to the R City mall in Thane. Notably, 12 additional locations will open in major Indian cities, including Surat, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chandigarh, Chennai, Gurugram, Pune, Ahmedabad, New Delhi, Mumbai, and Kochi.

Now, let’s examine the MG M9 and MG Cyberster, which will be available at the new, more upscale MG outlets.

MG M9

We recently took a test drive of the MG M9 in its India-spec configuration, ahead of its anticipated July 2025 launch, following its premiere at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025.

With its sleek and contemporary appearance, the MG M9 has a boxy profile. LED DRLs in the shape of eyebrows accentuate the projector LED headlights. Electric sliding doors and integrated LED tail lights, which give it a high-end appearance, are other highlights. For added economy, it also has 19-inch alloy wheels with aerodynamic inserts.

A black and brown console with two digital screens and a two-spoke steering wheel greets you as soon as you enter the interior. Additionally, it has a panoramic sunroof for the backseaters and a single-pane sunroof for the front seats. There are six seats inside, and the first and second rows include power assistance, massage, and ventilation. Additionally available are 64-color ambient lighting and 3-zone auto air conditioning.

Multiple airbags, a 360-degree camera, front and rear parking sensors, and a Level-2 ADAS suite are all part of the onboard safety suite.

It is equipped with a 90 kWh battery pack with a 548 km stated range. A 245 PS/350 Nm electric motor positioned on the front axle is linked with it.

MG Cyberster

The MG Cyberster is anticipated to go on sale shortly in addition to the M9’s anticipated introduction. The electric roadster’s 3.2-second 0-100 kmph pace is noteworthy.

It has contemporary-looking scissor doors on either side and projector LED headlamps with LED DRLs that resemble petals. Following debut, it will be the most reasonably priced vehicle in India with these doors. Its sporty appearance is further enhanced with an LED lightbar and arrow-shaped LED tail lights.

The cabin has a four-screen configuration that mimics an airplane’s cockpit and allows access to all of the EV’s capabilities. These consist of a 7-inch touchscreen entertainment system on either side of the instrument console, a 10.25-inch and 7-inch driver’s display, and an additional display specifically for AC controls. It also has auto air conditioning and Bose speakers.

Six airbags, disc brakes on all wheels, an electronic parking brake with auto hold, and Level-2 ADAS features like lane maintain assist and driver fatigue recognition are all part of its safety package.

The Cyberster would have a 77 kWh battery pack with a 443 km stated range in India. It will be connected to two motors that have a combined output of 725 Nm and 510 PS.

Expected Price And Rivals

As an electric substitute for the Toyota Vellfire and Kia Carnival MPVs, the MG M9 is anticipated to retail for Rs 70 lakh (ex-showroom). In contrast, the Cyberster will cost about 80 lakh (ex-showroom). In India, it might be regarded as an electrified alternative to the BMW Z4.
